I was born in Melboure, Australia but now live in the sunny State of Queensland.
I have always had the desire to draw but never dreamt I was capable of anything beyond something very simple and basic.
So imagine my delight when after being encouraged to try my hand at botanical art I actually drew something I felt proud off.
It wasn't great but it gave me the courage and the confidence to know that if I applied myself I could produce some reasonable works of art.
I think I am now gaining that ability and continue to grow & enjoy the challenges of each subject I tackle.
I'm a self taught artist having found the joys of art in my late 50's.
I started out with water colours doing botanical art but changed to artist coloured pencils when it became obvious that it wasn't a medium I couldn't just stop when called upon in my husbands business.
I also took up graphite which I found a very satisfying experience and am now trying to learn how to use pastels.
I find my days in retirement full of the joys of learning with never a dull moment and couldn't be happier.
I have even had the good fourtune to have my drawing of the Spotted Owl published in Ann Kullbergs magazine CP Hidden Treasures 2.
In the September 2016 issue of Australian Artist Magazine I was one of the finalists with my drawing of Potted Apples.
